Visitor Guidelines
Our centres are spaces of trust, respect and care. We ask all visitors and guests to:
-
Maintain Quiet and Respect: Please keep noise to a minimum, especially in meditation or silent areas. Use headphones for music or videos, and speak softly in common spaces.
-
Honour Silence Periods: During scheduled silent sittings or early/late hours, observe silence to allow meditation and reflection.
-
Eat Vegetarian Meals: Our centre provides vegetarian meals to support a peaceful environment. Do not bring or consume meat, alcohol, or drugs on the premises.
-
Be Punctual and Present: Arrive on time for scheduled meals and sessions. If you arrive late or leave early, please do so quietly to minimize disturbance.
-
Respect Others: Treat fellow visitors and staff with kindness. Listen attentively in dialogues, and share space considerately at meal tables and living areas.
-
Care for the Space: Keep your room and common areas clean. Follow any house rules (e.g. no open flames, no pets). Conserve water and electricity.
-
Privacy and Permission: Do not photograph or record others without permission. Privacy for personal enquiry is important.
-
Follow Staff Guidance: Our staff and volunteers are here to help. Please follow any reasonable requests or instructions they give about safety or centre operations.
We welcome people of all backgrounds, and expect honesty and compassion in return. Serious violations of these guidelines (for example, aggression or vandalism) may result in being asked to leave. By coming here, you agree to help create a caring, peaceful community for everyone’s learning.
